To ensure that expectations of product quality are met and minimum standards maintained, key material used in production must be tested to ensure that they are as per what has been specified. And to ensure that such tests provide meaningful information over time, standard testing procedures are a pre-requisite.

Standard testing procedures also help ensure that ingredients being supplied by vendors are consistent over time.
In this section we will go over:
a. Testing fabric
b. Testing of incoming dyes and chemicals

Given that most hand-printing units are small in size, this document focuses only on low-cost and easy testing processes that can be undertaken with minimal investment.
